Calyx

A handbuilt ceramic sculpture intended to stand alone. No flowers, no arrangement — the piece is the point.

The form is broad and organic, the surface faceted and white-glazed with the kind of tonal variation that only comes from the kiln. It reads differently in morning light than it does by lamplight. It will look different again in six months, once it has settled into a room and the room has settled around it.

Part of the Flow Frozen in Mineral series. Each piece is individually constructed. This one cannot be reproduced.
