A seahorse in brass, cast with the kind of attention that outlasts its occasion — fins detailed, crown intact, mounted on a scrollwork collar that transitions into the blade with quiet authority.

The blade carries a cartouche: Tacoma, Washington, engraved in cursive. It was somewhere. It has been kept. It is here now.

The brass has aged unevenly — darker in the recesses of the scrollwork, warmer along the blade. The patina is not a finish. It is a record.
